Looking for a Fresha alternative? Here is what Fresha actually costs.

You probably searched this because the number leaving your account did not match the number on the pricing page. That is the usual reason.

So here is the whole thing, taken from Fresha’s own pricing page and checked on the date shown. No spin, no screenshots of a bad review. Just what it costs, worked out on a month that looks like yours.

The bit worth reading twice

The new client fee is the bit that catches people out.

Fresha takes 20% of a new client’s first booking, with a minimum of £4. It is charged once, on her first visit, and returning clients cost you nothing.

The part worth checking is which clients count as new. Fresha’s pricing page says the fee applies to a new client’s first booking through the marketplace, and it does not spell out how a booking gets counted as coming from the marketplace. If you send people to your Fresha link yourself — off your own Instagram, say — that is a question worth putting to them directly before you assume those bookings are free.

We have deliberately not put a number on that, because Fresha does not publish one and we are not going to guess at somebody else’s terms on your behalf.

On a £45 first appointment that is £9. Six of those in a month is £54 — more than three times the subscription itself.

No commission. No card fees — the money goes bank to bank, so it never becomes a card transaction. No text costs, because texts send from your own phone.

Being fair about it

What that 20% is actually buying.

A marketplace. Fresha lists you where people are already browsing for a salon, and some of your new clients genuinely will come from that. If a meaningful slice of your work arrives that way and you are happy paying for the introduction, that is a real trade and Fresha is offering it.

Moshee has no marketplace. Nobody browsing an app will stumble across you. What you get instead is your own booking link, and nothing standing between you and the person who was always going to book you anyway. That is also why there is no commission line — there is no introduction to charge you for.

If you decide to move

Your clients come with you.

Your client list comes out of Fresha as a spreadsheet and goes straight into Moshee. In our experience most people are done in about ten minutes.

Free for 7 days, no card needed. Then £16 a month, and you can leave whenever you like.
